Unfortunately, there is not a universal password for the iPod Touch.
This is because if you lost your iPod or if it had been stolen, having a universal password would allow people to access your files and information. So basically, there isn't a universal password for theft reasons.

To restore your iPod Touch you must do the following:
- Make sure you have an internet connection as you may need to download updates for iTunes or your iPod.
- Download and install the latest version of iTunes if you have not done already.
- Open iTunes and connect your iPod to your computer with the USB or Firewire cable; which came with your iPod
- When your iPod comes up in the source panel in iTunes, select it. Information will appear in the summary tab of the main iTunes window.
- Then click restore. If you are using a Mac, you will be required to enter an administrator's name and password. A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage 1 of the process has begun.

- During stage 2, it is very important that the iPod remains plugged in. After Stage 2, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear and require you to enter a name for your iPod and choose your syncing preferences. After all stages are complete, the restore of your iPod is complete.
