How Do I Deactivate My Yahoo Account?

To deactivate your Yahoo email and IM account, you need to click here whilst you're logged in.

You'll then be asked for your username and password again, just so that Yahoo can verify that it's you trying to delete your account and not somebody else!

The page will ask you to confirm that you'd like to delete your account, and after following the steps detailed on-screen, you should be done.

Remember!

• Once you've deactivated your account, you can't get it back - it's gone for good. You're free to create another Yahoo account, though.
• You'll lose all emails and contacts associated with your account. There's no getting them back!
• You can't delete your email account without deleting your IM account.
• You can't delete your IM account without deleting your email account. If you want to stop using Yahoo Messenger, just uninstall the program from your computer and don't sign in again.
