Unfortunately, you haven't specified which version of Windows your Vaio is running, but I'll assume that it's a relatively-modern machine running Windows 7.
Instructions for Windows Vista should be the same.
Switching on the Webcam
To switch on your Vaio's integrated webcam:
The software that is required in order to allow Windows to communicate with your webcam should already be installed. But if you can't find it in the "All Programs" list, then you might want to consider running Windows Update.
This should identify the webcam device on your machine, and locate the correct software for you to install.
The following steps should allow you to do this:
Note: It's highly recommended - for system security and stability - that you also install all important updates immediately. When you've finished installing your webcam software, click back on the "Important Updates" link to do this.

- Click on the "Start" button
- Click "All Programs"
- Scroll down the list of programs until you reach "Arcsoft Webcam companion". Depending upon the version of your Vaio laptop, this might be named "Vaio Camera Capture Utility" instead. Click on whichever program you find.
- You will then need to click on "Webcam companion 3" to activate your webcam.
