Well, you should get a writeable DVD at first, then insert the dvd you want to copy into your laptop, click open the dvd icon, then copy the files to your computer, after this has been down , insert the blank dvd, then copy to it. By the way, you do have a recordable dvd, that is necessary.

You can copy DVD to ISO(image file) or DVD folder(VOB file) saved on your hard drive, or copy DVD to blank DVD disc(to do this, you will need a DVD-RAM drive as well because a DVD-ROM drive doesn't have the burning function).
