I have tried several DVD copying programs and finally found The one true DVD Copy program. 123 COPY DVD 2007 is a true one click copy program. It has a decryptor working in the background so all you have to do is drop in the DVD you want to copy into your DVD player and a blank DVD into your computer's DVD burner and click burn. It will also shrink your DVD file to fit on one disk automatically. You can Copy your movie as well as all the other info on the disk such as alternate languages, movie trailers etc. Or you can click on a box to copy movie only. Either way the picture quality is exact. I HIGHLY recommend this program and I believe the new version is 123 DVD COPY 2008. The copy I purchased was at OFFICE MAX for $29.95

You can make a backup of the DVD using the appropriate software, saving what is called an image file of the DVD to your hard drive. Then you would replace the actual DVD in your drive with a blank DVD and you could burn the image onto that.

If the original DVD is a double-density one (most film DVDs are) and your blank DVD is only single density, you will need to reduce the size of the image to make it fit on the lower capacity single density disk.

I would recommend checking out the following free software :
