If you have lost your Safelink phone or had it stolen, then it is possible to get a replacement. Safelink phones are provided as part of a US government scheme to give low-income households a free cell phone and free monthly minutes - originally conceived as an initiative by the Reagan administration. If you were originally entitled to the scheme and still are you will be eligible for a replacement of a lost phone.

The first step to get your phone replaced is to phone a TracFone service advisor. They can be contacted on 1-800-867-7183. You will need to give them information about when the phone was lost or stolen and where. If you can provide information about the last time you used the phone and who you called, this may help them track it down with the calls that have been made since, if any. Give the service advisor your mobile phone’s serial number or ESN that is located on the activation card. If you cannot find this, then give your mobile number. You should then be able to choose to keep your old phone number or to get a new one, and you should request that you have a copy of the report sent to your email address for future use. This email report will contain a confirmation reference number that will be useful if you need to find out any information about the progress of your replacement.

Once the report has been made your old mobile phone will be deactivated and you can expect to receive your new one within three to five business days. When the phone arrives, check everything is supplied and activate it by calling the number provided. You will have to give your serial number and SIM card code to activate your mobile. If your phone is taking longer than expected to arrive, follow it up with a service advisor using the reference number you were given on your report.
