I also had this problem.  Eventually, I discovered that Yahoo Mail wanted my browser window to be full screen, not the slightly smaller window I was using.  Setting browser window to full screen before Yahoo Mail log-in did not get the error message.  After log-in, I could then reduce the window size and continue normally.  What a pain !!

KARIN OLSON , Had a problem with "screen resolution" message using Yahoo! Mail, answered

Anyone having a problem with a "screen resolution" when trying to get into Yahoo! Mail?  Twice in one month I had the "screen resolution" message.  The first time I was able to "continue" and get into my Inbox.  The second time, just the other day, I couldn't do anything to get in using my laptop.  (My tablet and other laptop worked just fine.)  So, it had to be something with my one laptop.  I went into the display settings but the res was better than required.  I FINALLY found an answer on the Mozilla site.  (The problem occurred when I used the Firefox browser.)  Someone said to "unzoom" the screen.  So, I tried "control" and the "minus sign" and it worked!  There are other ways to reduce the screen - control and zero works too apparently.  I think I accidentally zoom the screen sometimes because I rest a finger of one hand on the track pad while navigating with a finger on my other hand.  I've caught myself zooming the screen inadvertently.  So, it wasn't an ATT Yahoo problem - it was caused by the user, ME!  Anyway, problem solved, and I am SO happy.

Same with me -- just started after I upgraded Firefox, and my screen res. Has always been 1600x1200.  I also have XP-pro.  Yahoo and Firefox have another glitch, I guess.

I have the same problem.  Why doesn't Yahoo tell us what is going on?  I am using a netbook; adjusting to the resolution they recommend in the message results in cutting off part of the e-mails on each side so that horizontal scrolling is needed.

My resolution setting works just fine on GMail, without any screen res messages.  I have to use the "go to Yahoo mail anyway" click when I open Yahoo.

Could someone from Yahoo try to answer this question?  It has been asked repeatedly elsewhere, too, and the only answers are like this one: "I have the same problem."

Go to system properties (right click on desktop in blank space).
In setting tab, you can increase or decrease screen resolution and then check.

This happens to me too. My settings are fine. Windows xp, and happens in firefox. When I log into yahoo, the main page comes up with yahoo mail, then suddenly the Page saying I have a screen resolution problem. Then there is a "go to yahoo mail anyway" that I have to go to. I've checked all settings and they are the highest possible settings for resolution. It's been happening for a few months since firefox went to 3.6
