If Someone Stole My Ipod Touch, Is There Like A Tracking Device Inside Of It? Or Is There Any Way Possible To Find It?

There is a tracking device provided through MobileMe, however there may be a chance that your specific model does not already have this. On the other hand you can get it for free on all iPod Touch devices. In order for this to work you need an iPod Touch that uses the IOS4.2 operating system and a MobileMe account.
Firstly you need to access the MobileMe website and log in using your Apple ID and password and the click on 'sign in'. You should then be taken to a new web page, which will display a 'devices' option at the top of the left corner of the page. Click on 'devices' and then a drop down menu will appear. Find the 'iPod touch' link on the menu and then an iPod touch will come up on a map if it is connected to a Wi-Fi network. There will be a circle around the device's icon, which will give a rough idea of where the device is located.
In the drop down menu located above the device you should click on the blue arrow and then on the link that says 'display message or play sound'. A menu will appear which allows you to locate your iTouch if it is near your home. You can choose the 'remote lock' feature that locks your iTouch with a password which will stop unwanted people from accessing your information. You could also click on 'remote erase' which will clear all of the content, settings and various information you have on the iTouch so if you have any personal details stored on there, they won't be able to be accessed.

There is only one way and it depends on one thing. Whether or not you registered it through itunes or apple. The way it works is every ipod has its own serial number and wen you registered it that number would basically be attached to you so if someone tried to pawn it then the pawn shop would run the number and it would report back stolen if you reported it stolen. The number is in the general settings of the ipod. I would run a check with all your local pawn shops and start there. If you didn't register it then your out o luck sorry. Plz rate my answer.

I am having the same problem I lost my ipod touch at school and I wasnt it back because I used to use my ipod for everything...I miss it. There should be a tracking device because whoever stole my ipod I want them to be arrested. Its like they took a part of my life...music is my ife. I'm a singer

Dude the same thing  happend to me and I asked the same question butt if you call I tunes store and talk to an operator they can actually try to automatically disable the ipod and will not let it into itunes.

Yes but only if you have all the information for the ipod and a tracking program loaded into it then when the thief uses the ipod it will automatically send the information to the tracking company where they can report it to the police.www.ehow.com

If I have desktop and I also have ipod touch, both are the same password. But some ones stole my ipod .Now I changed my password in the desktop . How about my ipod do the people stole can read my all email on my ipod. Please give me advise.Thanks

IT honestly does suck when an ipod is stolen!

I got it for christmas and got it stolen at schooL! I know it has to be someone from my 3rd period class! I let the office know so hopefully someone turns it in! I have a password on it! I wonder if they can still hack into it even tho I have a password on it! ????

Someone stole my ipod from my bag at class when I was talking to my teacher

Yeah same with me except my sister had a party and they came up to my room and stole it I'm so pissed off and I know who it was but they wont give it back.

My ipod touch got stolen at school... And I'm dying to have it back! But my ipod touch has a lot of cracks on it... And I'm very curious who stole it!
And I'm wondering if there is a device to find it too..

I don't think you can. I know someone who's was stolen at a New Years party and it's really upsetting her. But you can see when it was logged onto the internet last but I'm not sure how.. Anyway she is going to file a police report and I'm almost positive that will do nothing. Sorry to say, but your ipods are gone forever.
