How do you trade pokemon from ruby to heart gold?

You deposit the Pokemon Ruby game in the bottom of the Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite. (Dsi and Dsi XL will not work because they do not have the Gameboy slot.) Turn on your Pokemon HeartGold game. At the menu where it says Start Game, scroll down. First let me say that you need the National Pokedex if you want to trade from Ruby. To get the National Dex you need to beat the elite four. Now if you scroll down one of the options are Import From Ruby. Click it and choose the six pokemon you want to import.
