How Do I Catch Mew In Pokemon Ruby?

I hear you can find a level 5 mew on Mirage island.You go to the paciflog town,wait until the guy looking out the window says he can see it,go east to Mirage island.Then go to the bottom of it and you will find three rocks,use dig at the middle and inside you will find a mew.Very tricky to to catch though,bring a LOT of supplies to catch it.I've been trying to this,too.I'll tell you when I succeed.Good luck,hope I helped!  

P.S. Don't underestimate the low level of the mew.I heard a guy went in there with 48 ultra ball and  pokeballs,20 repeat and timer balls.And came out with 2 repeats,17ultra,and no timer or pokeballs.

I find mine in mirage ilsand;1.find 2 rocks 2. Use dig
3.there will be a cave that will open then translate the code just like the regis and mew shall appeared p.s he is lv5 but hard to catch it took me 25 poke balls, 39utlaball and 21 timer ball

you should just put it to sleep then use the timer ball

Go to dew-ford town and look in Granite cave.

There is no legit way.. You have to cheat or use gameshark codes. .

I think you can only catch it in emerald

You can get mew in mirage island

Beat the elite four 10 times and look in the sky pillars but not where Requena is!

You can catch mew in mirage island but you might run into lots of wobbfets and wynauts before you can catch it.

This whole catch lugia and jirachi and mew is crap the best way to get mew on to any of the upto date games eg....ruby ....saphire .....emarald is from any of the first 3 games that being red ....blue .... Yellow do not go on the s.s anne what so ever I will exsplain this reason later !now the way to do this is to catch a kangaskang from the safari zone and catch and train a kangaskang to level 100 ! Then trade a pokemon you hardly use from eg yellow to ruby or whatever game you are using for a pokemon that knows surf ! Remember it must know surf ! Once you get to the last gym beat geovanne with the level 100 kangaskang once you beat him with this he will ask can I have your kangaskang for these van keys ! Say yes trust me ! Now that you have the van keys go to the harbour where the s.s anne is and bring a pokemon that knows strength flash the ticket to the guy and you will get to walk down towards the ship ! Do not go on the ship instead surf across to the right with the pokemon you recived through trade and there you will see a van .....this is where the keys come in handy go to the door and it will say use keys ...say yes and the van will move ever so slightly the go to the back of the van and use strength to push it that bit more underneath is a poke ball with mew inside it is now yours to keep and do with as you like .....now you can trade your mew to you ruby or leaf green ect I guarentee this works I done this when I was a kid and stumbled across this glitch/cheat so enjoy ...thankyou yours john paul stephens

Well you need to look at your game  before you put it in the game boy, there should be a red wire. Disconnect it, then turn your game on and go to little root town and go in the water and surf. The first pokemon you should encounter is mew, then mewtwo should appear, and also if you pull the green wire on your game, you should encounter the regis and 1 ho-oh
