How To Get Silent Mode Off Your Cell Phone?

You didn't say what kind of phone you have. I'll tell you how it worked on my last two Nokia phones -- if you have a different kind, this might still get you close. Push the "menu" button (or the button right next to the word "menu" on the phone's screen). Use your directional keys to highlight and select "Settings." On the settings menu, press "Profiles." Then select a profile other than Silent, such as Normal. Select "Activate" and you should be good to go. If your profiles menu comes up already showing Normal (or some non-silent profile), then select the profile it comes up showing and then select "Customize" on the next screen. Scroll to ringer volume or incoming call volume and turn it up.

Check your phone's manual if this doesn't help. If you don't have the manual, you can probably find it online using your phone's brand and model. If you don't know the model, try turning the phone off and removing the battery -- the model number is often behind the battery. Or ask a friend who's comfortable with cell phones.
