Yes, one particular way to send free text messages is via your email account. Make sure you have the corresponding person’s service provider and then you can get started. Firstly, sign in to your email account and click on the ‘compose a message’ button. Then, instead of typing in an email address like you would normally do, you should type in your friend’s mobile number followed by their service provider. For example, if your friend’s number is (515) 524-7136 and their provider is T Mobile, then you would type [email protected] in the ‘send message’ section. The address for different service providers varies so if you are on Virgin Mobile you would proceed with the phone number but add @vmobl.com. For Sprint its @messaging.sprintpcs.com and for Cingular it’s @cingularme.com. Verizon is @vtext.com, Nextel is @messaging.nextel.com and AT&T is @txt.att.net.

Another way of sending text messages from all over the world for free is by accessing www.sendsmsnow.com and scrolling down until you see a link that reads ‘Register now, it’s free’. Click on that link and enter the information it requests of you, and once you’ve done that you should submit the form and wait for a confirmation email to be sent to the email address you provided. After you’ve received the email you should click on the confirmation link which will direct you to a webpage stating that you are a registered member. From then on you will be able to login with a username and password and send SMS messages for free. Also, you will have the ability to make up a directory of all the names and numbers that you regularly contact which will make sending messages that much quicker. You should keep in mind that sending group messages will cost money so stick to sending individual free texts.
