My android tablet does not have the "move to SD" option nor is it greyed out also there is no format SD option. How do I move apps to my SD without rooting my device?

It probably depends on which model you have.

My Galaxy S7 can move apps IF they are programmed to be moveable.

Settings / applications / application manager / (then select the application you want to move) / storage / change / SD card / move

You can also move them back to the device using the same method. It does NOT work for every app.

It's a Verizon QMV7B Ellipsis. Someone bought it for me the other day, not the most luxurious tablet but N64, SNES and GBA emulators work great on it. I went to setting\ applications\ application manager experimented with a couple different apps and i didn't see "storage" on any of them. I guess I have to use a 3rd party app.

Sounds as though its not recent enough to handle the transfer.
