How to enlarge the font or text size for Windows 8

You can easily change the text size on Windows 8. All you need to do is:

  1. Right click on desktop
  2. Select "screen resolution"
  3. Make text and other items larger or smaller
  4. This will give you three options: Small, medium, large
  5. You can also customize the font size by percentage.
  6. Hit save or apply
  7. Sign out of the session you're in
  8. Sign back in again and you will see the new font size.

As following written instructions is sometimes tricky, I have found a video that might help you navigate your Windows 8 settings better:

Here's a video to guide you through the process:

To change Windows fonts

  1. Open Appearance Settings by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, typewindow color, and then click Change window colors and metrics.

  2. In the Item list, click the part of Windows that you want to change the font for. For example, if you want to change the menu font, click Menu in the list. Then, make any of the following changes:

    • In the Font list, click the font that you want to use.

    • In the Size list, click the font size that you want.

    • In the Color list, click the font color that you want.

  3. Repeat these steps for each item that you want to make changes to, and then click OK.
