Are Mobile Phones Good Or Bad To Have In A School?

Mobile phones are extremely bad in school, the reasons are several, some are listed below.

1. They are a nuisance due to the noise they create, even if they are on silent mode they vibrate !!
2. Phones are not just phones, they have replaced the walkman and the children are addicted to them and are plugged on to the music, which is very distracting.
3. Also children keep receiving and sending text messages due to which they do not concentrate on studies and are all the time wondering whether they have received messages.
4. The cell phone is like an addiction, children keep looking at them all the time and fiddling with the phones which is not good for their well being
5. Today vidoes can be down loaded which may not be very apt for school children
6. They are also a health hazard since reading text messages all the time can spoil the eyes
7. Talking on the cell phone all the time is not good for the brain
8. Listening to music with earphones 24/7 is harmful to the ears

Good, because if you get bored in class you can text people. You can also use them to get the answer on a problem you don't know the answer to. Phones are the BEST think to have in school. I mean who needs books when you can find the answer online via the internet.

Well, if you want my opinion, I think that they are both.  Cell phones do keep people away from their studies, but they have/ can receive info that can't wait until the end of the day.  Say your in class and a family member dies or gets injured, you would want to know, well I KNOW THAT I WOULD.  But on the other side they keep kids from listening to lectures, directions and other things they would need to succeed later down the road

It depedends on which school you are in. It is bad for students under18 years old to have phones in school because these students are too young to have control themselves. If you are in university, it is good for you to have phone since you have so much spare time.

I think they are not bad for you and research shows that they do no harm at all.

I think cell phones are good to have in school for the simple fact that they can help you there is a calculator an your phone if you need it and it is also a proven fact that listening to music while working on ANYTHING can help you concentrate.
