LAN is local area network it can be wired or wir less...this service is used in limited area...it provide speed of 10 mbps to 1000 mbps...WAN is wide area network....example is internet....MAN is metropolitan area network ...it is a combintion of lan and can.... It is used to connect different region of same country...

LAN = local area network

WAN = wide area network

These two were the original network types, but soon others were added:

PAN = personal area network

MAN = Metropolitan Area Network

There are a couple of others that hardly anyone uses... things like DAN and SAN.
