The method of transferring music from your computer to your phone depends on which brand of phone you have. If you have an iPhone, this is done only through iTunes.
If you have a Blackberry, you can install the Blackberry Manager application, or manually transfer songs over to the SD data card. Other brands of phone each have their own software applications, but on most you can manually drag-and-drop song files to the SD data card.
If you have an iPhone:
Load up iTunes on your computer and plug your iPhone into the USB port with the cable supplied.
Once your iPhone has shown up in the ‘Devices’ section in the left side window of iTunes, select the iPhone device.
Click on the Music tab and you’ll see Playlists, Albums, Artists that you can chose to transfer to your iPhone.
Click to tick each little box to the left of each playlist or song you’d like to transfer to your iPhone.
Once you’re happy with your selection, click on the ‘Sync’ button at the bottom right of the iTunes window. This will then begin to transfer files to your iPhone in the background.
For other phones:
Plug your phone into your computer and wait for both the phone and SD card to mount as a hard drive icon on your desktop.
Find the files you wish to transfer over to your phone.
Open and locate the Music folder inside the SD card home folder.
Drag and drop chosen files into the SD card Music folder.
Again, this may take a while if you’re transferring a lot of material across. Once finished, you have to un-mount the SD card before you can unplug the USB cable otherwise it may lose your data.
On Apple Mac’s you can highlight select the SD card icon and press CMD E to eject the device.
On PCs you may have to go to your dock and safely remove the device. Wait until it has finished before pulling the cable out.
You can transfer music from your computer to almost any type of phone as long as it has an mp3 capability and can support music and audio files.
