It should be relatively simple to transfer music stored on your computer onto a USB flash drive. As long as you know where your music is stored on your computer, then it should be a simple case of copying and pasting the music files onto the USB drive once you have plugged it in.

If you are using a computer with the Windows operating system, then you can take the following steps:

1. Plug the USB flash drive into one of the empty USB ports in your computer.
2. Open Windows Explorer. The USB drive should appear on 'My Computer' as the E drive. It may be referred to as a 'Removable Drive' or you may already have given it a different name.
3. Open another Windows Explorer window and locate where you store all of the music files on your computer that you want to transfer
4. Right-click on the music files you want and select 'Copy'
5. Return to the window containing the USB drive and select 'Paste'
6. Repeat these steps until all the music you want to transfer has been dropped into the USB flash drive folder.

Once you have done this and you want to remove the USB drive from your computer, make sure that you select the 'Safely Remove Hardware' or 'Eject' option to ensure that the data on the drive are not corrupted or lost.

USB flash drives are types of data storage devices incorporated with a universal serial bus interface. They are generally small, light, extractable and reusable. As per November 2006, the capacity for USB flash drives ranges from thirty-two megabytes up to sixty-four gigabytes of memory.

USB flash drives provide possible benefits over other types of portable storage devices, especially the floppy disk. They are more convenient, usually faster, have a higher capacity for holding data, and are more dependable owing to their deficiency of moving parts, than floppy disks.

In order to obtain the information stored in a flash drive, the drive needs to be connected to a computer, either by way of inserting it into a USB host or a hub. After connecting it to the computer, one can transfer any information that one wants.

I inserted my micro SD card from my phone (LG Vu) into an adapter which becomes a SD reader-writer. Then I put it into my computer. I went to 'computer' and brought up the portable drive F (my device). After that, I have NO idea how to transfer playlists from iTunes to this device. It seems all the directions I find online assume that the user already knows how to do this. I don't.

Put in usb drive go to my computer and find your drive. Open it up and create a new folder. Open the folder and then go back to itunes and drag n drop over to your flash drive. The window for your new folder will close once you click on the song from itunes so without releasing the mouse button hover it over the new folder button on the menu bar and it will open for you. Once open you can release the button and song will load in your new folder you created within your usb drive.
