You can check your messages in your inbox by clicking on the ‘Pinboard’ section of the website after you have logged into your account. The pinboard can be found in your monster’s house on the wall to the left-hand side when looking straight on at the computer screen.
This helps you interact with your friends’ monsters allowing you to leave messages and notes for each other. As the site is mainly designed for children between the ages of seven and 12, it can also be a great way of them to learn how to communicate via the Internet. It may help improve their reading and writing skills as they are using their grammar skills and spelling tools. It may also help give them much need typing practice and help them to learn how to send messages over the Internet before progressing onto using a proper email account when they are a few years older.
There is also the chance of exploring other monsters’ houses on the website and this will help develop a child’s curiosity and sense of adventure. As the child also needs to look after and care for their monster, it may also help develop a sense of responsibility.
Educational puzzles that are solved successfully can help a child gain rewards that are known as ‘Rox.’ These awards give the child a type of currency that they can then use to buy different things for their monster such as furniture for their interactive friend’s house or some food.
