Usually, when using the pedometer poketech it takes about 6,300 steps to hatch a Riolu's egg. However there are methods of reducing this number:
Riolu In the fourth generation of the Pokemon games (Diamond, Pearl and Platinum) the player should receive the Riolu egg from Riley, a pokemon trainer from the city of Sinnoh.
Riolu is a baby fighting type pokemon which will evolve into Lucario - a very decent pokemon. Riolu should evolve into Lucario when levelled up with high friendship (the measurement of how much a pokemon loves their trainer) during the day.
To increase a Pokemon's friendship levels, the trainer can walk 256 steps and/or level up the pokemon. In contrast, the friendship level of a pokemon will decrease if the pokemon faints or if the trainer uses herbal medicine.
Lucario is both a fighting and steel type pokemon, and is a more adept fighting pokemon than Riolu.
Happy hatching!
- If you're using a pokemon with the magma armour or flame body abilities then it should take about half the number of steps it would usually take.
- You can also go to Eterna City and cycle up and down on your bike- this should accelerate the hatching process.
