They're are egg groups in water type ,fire type etc.
Magmar goes with electabuzz
I have a question. How do you tell what egg group a pokemon is in? Because it doesnt say in summary or anything like that :(
Go onto sellebii.net for some good info thats what I went thats now I got 100 shiny Gyarados red ones of course lol
To get a piplup egg you need to get water type pokemon and a female piplup prinplup or empoleon:)
Egg groups help you to breed pokemon faster.. Two pokemon of opposite gender and same egg groups can breed.. But the pokemon hatched will be the same as the female.. A female gyarados and male salamance will give you a magikarp. .
Egg groups are the compatibility of pokemon with each other. For example:
Ma chop in a different egg group from Rye oh lou, so it doesn't match up.
If it were paired up with a pokemon of the same egg group in the Daycare Center, it would produce an egg. The pokemon inside the egg would be the female pokemon you put in the Daycare.
Note: If a pokemon's egg group is "No eggs", it doesn't mean it can't lay an egg (would it be called "laying" if it's with pokemon?).
Note: Legendary pokemon can't lay eggs.
:D

Egg groups are groups of pokemon that can breed together. Some pokemon are part of two egg groups like pikachu who is part of the fairy and field egg groups while others are part of just one egg group like manetric.Speaking of pikachus and manetrics if you have a light ball(an item sometimes held by wild pikachus(5% chance)),a female pikachu and a male manetric you can put them in the day care and the baby pichu will know volt tackle!
I think the guy up there might have meant [[serebii.net]], not sure, but [[serebii.net]] has tons of info including all of the egg types and what pokemon are in them
