How To Catch Groudon In Pokemon Platinum?

Trade from Ruby.

Trade from emerald or ruby via pal park or trade from soul silver

You have to migrate it from Ruby.

If you are playing Ruby version then you catch it at Cave of Origin at Level 45-Moves=Earthquake,Fire Blast,Bulk up,Slash. Now have a good grass pokemon with sleep powder or something to paralyz,sleep or freeze and just slowly get down its heath to red and chuck ultra/timers balls at it.

If you are playing Emerald Version then you catch it at Terra Cave level 70-Moves=Fire Blast,Solar Beam,Fissure,rest

Now same process as the top sleep or paralyz it get its HP down to red and chuck poke balls at it.This may seem harder.By the way to find Terra Cave talk to the guy at the weather institute and he will tell you where to find it for example route 118.
