No, there is no way of knowing if someone has searched for your profile on Facebook. The only way of knowing is if they have sent you a ‘friend request’ or if they have sent you a private message.
If you have not changed the security settings on your Facebook profile to ensure that only your current ‘friends’ can see your profile, other people will not only be able to search for your public profile, they will also be able to go onto your page. Unless you have set your photo albums to a restricted view for friends only, other people will also be able to go onto your page and look at your photos without your knowledge.
There is a way you can control who can find you on a Facebook search however. If you have not already gone into your account settings, the privacy settings will be set by default in a way that allows everyone to find your profile. To change this, go to the ‘privacy settings’ page and click on the ‘view settings’ link on the ‘connecting on Facebook’ section. At this point, you will be able to change and restrict who can look for you on Facebook while also changing how they can make the first initial contact once they find you.
Some groups and applications claim they can let you see who has been searching for your profile and who has been looking at your wall. On Facebook’s website, the administrators are very quick to deny these claims, stating that they do not divulge any information to the groups or applications that would allow users to see who has viewed their profile. Facebook encourages users to report any groups like this to them by clicking on the ‘report application’ section on the website.
