Hey All,
This has been a popular issue here of late. Here is the official word on the memory card ordeal and what memory cards can be used:
"The Samsung Gravity t459 supports a microSD card up to 4GB in size. However, that card must be a regular microSD card. Secure Digital High Capacity, also known as SDHC or microSD HC, cards are not supported and do not work in the Gravity."
Below is a brief description to point out similarities and difference between the two memory cards:
SDHC is a new standard for Secure Digital flash memory cards. SDHC flash cards are based on SDA 2.0 specifications, which enable SDHC cards to reach significantly higher capacities than currently available. Generally non-SDHC SD cards are limited to a maximum capacity of 2GB. It is important to understand that SDHC cards can only provide these larger capacities when recognized in new SDHC-enabled devices. SDHC cards are not backwards compatible with standard SD legacy devices (such as the Gravity) while standard SD cards can work in any device that supports SD or SDHC.
SDHC cards are required to be clearly labeled per SD spec similar to what is shown below. These memory cards do not work with the Samsung Gravity.
I Hope this clears up the issue and gives everyone clarity on what memory cards do and do not work.
