Downloading music onto the Samsung Gravity appears to be another one of life's little mysteries. The user manual can be downloaded at www.retrevo.com/support/Samsung-Gravity-Cell-Phones-manual/i but this only helps in as much as it shows where to connect the USB lead and insert the microSD card.
This information can be found in Section Two, 'Understanding your phone', in the sub-section 'Closed view of your phone' of the user manual.
When the phone is connected to the computer via the USB lead, a pop-up should appear on the computer’s screen. Clicking on 'open to view folders' should result in a list of files/ folders being displayed.
One of these folders should be labelled 'Music' and this folder needs to be opened. After also opening the folder where music is stored on the computer, it is possible to drag and drop tracks across to the phone.
Alternatively, a microSD card can be attached to the PC via a card adapter. Again, a pop-up with several options should appear. After clicking on 'open to view files', the contents of the microSD card are displayed and a music folder can be created or opened.
Music can then be transferred via drag and drop as above, followed by inserting the card into the appropriate slot on the phone.
Once music has been added via one of these options, it then needs to be added to a play list and activated before it can be played.
How to do this is explained in several easy to follow steps in Section Nine, 'Fun & Apps', in the sub-section 'Music Player', on pages 88 and 89 of the user manual.
Default will automatically add tracks to play list one, unless another play list is created, which is detailed on page 89. The phone is capable of supporting up to six play lists.
