Snapchat error messages
There are a few things that could be causing you to receive the dreaded "Could not refresh stories" message, and they are common issues that also cause "Could not refresh messages" errors, too.
Why am I getting the "Snapchat could not refresh stories" error?
This is a pretty common occurrence, and is potentially due to a number of issues. I've provided the most obvious ones below:
- Poor data reception
- No internet/wifi access
- Temporary server outage
As you can see, the "could not refresh stories" error is usually caused by some sort of network issue.
The first thing I would advise is that you check you're connected to the wifi. If not, that's probably the cause as Snapchat can't retrieve the stories due to no connection.
If you are connected to the wifi, I would then recommend that you delete the app and reinstall it. I'm not sure why, but this sometimes works.
Alternatively, you could try to factory reset your phone, as this often rectifies these problems too. Don't forget to backup!
