It really depends on what you want to take photos of. Not necessary alot for daytime photos, unless you're needing to reduce the back-lighting. For night photos (indoors), I find that by adjusting the ISO and/or exposure I can usually get the photo I want better than using a flash. Using a flash on a white cat at night doesnt produce good pictures, unless you like to be blinded by light and white lol. Do digital cameras *need* flashes .. Not really. (But they do come in handy!)
Mine has one in it and it's great.
"NEED?" I imagine that those that do, have them.
Wouldn't they?
Wouldn't they?
They really do. There will always be times when a dark area needs to brighten a bit...even for the best digital camera.
Some digital flashes have a built in flash, and some don't need one.
If you need to buy one their fairly cheap.
If you need to buy one their fairly cheap.
Technically no,not on the camera itself.they can have strobe lamps or quick flashes hooked up externally.so the camera itself does not need a flash.it does need lighting.
Digital Cameras Need Flashes because almost every modern photo taken with an onboard flash is ugly: Blown out highlights, red eye, harsh shadows and that characteristic look that screams "flash photo! Almost every modern camera comes with an on-board flash, even the higher-end DSLRs.

My digital has an automatic flash feature. When it needs a flash, it automatically goes off. If not, it does not activate.
