Facebook has a variety of adjustable privacy settings that will allow you to control who sees tagged photos. If you’re tired of friends tagging you without your consent (and posting photographs that everyone can look at), do something about it by changing your privacy settings in the Account area of your Facebook wall or homepage.
Since potential or current employers may check you out by doing Google or Facebook searches of your name, it can be very wise to "lock down” your Facebook profile by using the strongest security settings available - this is especially true when it comes to tagged photos that may show you partying or demonstrating other inappropriate behaviour.
Once you’ve gone into Account, you’ll need to look for an option called Privacy Settings - when you see this option, you should scroll to the Customize Settings button. Customize Settings will allow you to access a whole new area, known as Things Others Share. This area will show an option called Photos And Videos You’re Tagged In; if you look to the right, you’ll also see an Edit Settings button that permits you to change the visibility of all photos you’re tagged in.
Tighten up privacy by adjusting the setting to Only Me; this setting will make it impossible for others to check out photos you’re tagged in. Once you’ve chosen this option, you’ll need to save your work by hitting the Save Settings button. After you’ve completed these steps, you’ll never have to worry about just who is looking at photos you’ve been tagged in.
If you eventually change your mind and decide that your closest Facebook friends should also be able to enjoy photos you’ve been tagged in, just go through the steps again, changing the Edit Settings option to Friends Only. If you’re ok with Friends of Friends seeing tagged photos, you can choose that setting instead and then save your work.
