I have the 8550 (Chocolate 2) so I am not sure if it works the same way. However, here is how I do it:
Make a new contact-add your e-mail address
Bring up the photo that you want to send to your computer
Go to send-contact list-and choose the new email you just added
Now check your email, and DL the file to your desktop!
You can also sign up for a free account from Flickr.com and they will give you a specific "text message" address you can send your photos to, and they will automatically update to your Flickr profile.
