The first thing you need to do is identify the taskbar of the computer. The taskbar is usually the bar that’s at the bottom of the screen in Windows, but some setups have them at the side. Click on the button that either says ‘Start’, or the button that is round and features a Windows logo.
You should then take a look within your computer’s task bar for an icon that represents your wireless network. Look for an icon that features a little computer that has three green radio waves emitting from it. That’s the Windows icon. Another version on other operating systems will feature four cascading horizontal bars, which is usually green. This is the Dell icon.
You should then double-click on this icon. In the case of you having the Windows icon (the green radio waves one), you will see a dialog max that is marked as ‘general’. One of the tabs will also be labelled ‘general’. It’s the default tab, so it should show immediately.
You should then look at the second line down underneath ‘connection’. This part will indicate the name or your SSID. The first line will be labelled ‘status’, and this will be marked ‘connected’. The second line will actually be labelled ‘network’, and the text found next to it will be the name of the network. This name is the SSID that you have been looking for.
If you still can’t find it, then it seems like there’s probably an issue with your equipment. Simply get online and find the Cricket customer services hotline, and they’ll be able to give you more information and assistance should you actually require it. They will be able to tell you how to look for the SSID, or may be able to tell you what it would be set to automatically.
