Acutly your both wrong go to the resort area and talk to the guy in the pool next to the poke center. He will say there is a ruler lurking in the resort area then you go to the bridge and fish and you will evanchaly catch a gold madgikarp at level 60 thats the way me and 4 of my friends have done it bt it might take up to about 1-1 1/2 hours to catch
Go to the Resort Area and take out the super rod. Then keep using it. You keep seeing Magikarp. When you see a shiny magikarp try to catch it. When you do just evolve it and TA-DA! You have a red gyarados.
In Resort area ,Go talk to a boy in the swimming pool . He will tell you that something lurks at there go to the lake and stand on the bridge .You have to fish at the lake .The lake has a lot of Magikarps kill them until you got a gold Magikarp then catch it .When it evolves ,it is a Red Gyarados. Hope that works.
You get uxie azelf and mesprit in your party and go fishing in lake valor eventually you'll catch one trust me I caught one that way but it takes at least 20minutes
Go to Victory road B1F and use super rod. He wont be there untill you kill 40 of them but they 100% obtainable there so it should definetly work! (lv 30-55)!
I;m sorry to put you guys to shame, but I'm just a normal trainer with one lv. 100 pokemon, Empoleon, and I will never be the best because I don't HACK the games!! If you ask me, just randomly fish for a shiny Magikarp and evolve it
You have to go to the lake at the resort area to get red gyrados there's only 5% chance. Or wait till pokemon heartgold and soulsilvers out in march 14 2010. Anyone know when nintendo WFC mystery gift 4 arceus comes out?
The red gyrados in shiney but the MIRAGEred gyrados has specials you need all tye trio and I have found the lake of rage in platinum check mount corenet but nothin there except 50 chance of shiney

You have to believe me! If you believe me, whip out your super rod and go fishing. Who knows, you may just catch the mind blowing ruler!" Do that, and you will probably find the 'ruler'.
I have a lv 100 arceus japenese version also shiny I have like 12 of them all you have to do is get past the girl where the prize garden but she wont let you in so I kept doing it like 1000 times and she let me go in
The only way you can catch one is with luck. Find an area where they live and keep battling them until you find a red one. Pokemon that are not their usual colour are called shiny Pokemon Be careful, you are very unlikely to find a shiny Pokemon. Alothough this fact is true, I have a green golbat and a light blue teenicool.
The first anserw is best but I fised at night got me a magikarp at lv 90 and do the rest on the first anserw oh I hav some advice if you want an easy capture shiny go to iron island battle a 100 golbats you will get a orange golbat catch and raise it carefully into a shiny crobat. Hope this helps.
I never went to the trouble of trying to get a Red Gyarados in Pokemon platinum but when I was thinking about it someone did say you had to talk to a boy and speaks of something in the water, and then you fish where the bridge is for ages. Then eventually you get a Red Gyarados. I play the y game now and I use the chain fishing technique and got a red gyarados
Get garatina, palkia, dialga, shamin, crestalia, darkrai, celebe, arceus, and deoxy and the lAKE LEGENDARIES then go to lake valore and defeet 18 pokemon then surf on water and use your super fod 10 times and you find it then use a maser ball or ultra ball 11 times and then you catch it.
I caught a yellow magikarp today, (which is extremely lucky) apart from finding one in the wild, you can either use action replay (a hacking tool), or trading with someone who has a red gyarados. There is no such thing as the lake of rage.
No one who's said where the red gyarados is was talking about Platinum, it's at the resort area, but first you need a super rod and to talk to the guy inn the pool.

Catching red gyarados isn't easy, you must be patient because it'll take hours 2 find one. I suggest fishing in the Resort Area. Good Luck! YOU DON'T HAVE TO GET UXIE, AZELF, AND MISPRIT IN YOUR PARTY THAT SOUNDS REALLY STUPID & MEANINGLESS

You need to have azelf uxie and mesprit in your party.Go to the lake near twinleaf town.Then go to the lake cavern and use your super rod(I think you get that at the survival area)this will take only 15-20 mins and 1 of the bites will be the red gyarados hope this helped :D
Talk to the old lady in the day care center and she might give you an egg which red gyarados hatches from, though the egg might not be given to you,as you have to extremely lucky to get one
A red Gyarados is Very rare. Even I couldn't find it. But I'll show you where to get it: You get it at Verity Lakefront. You get it in the tall grass or in the water but you need surf.hope you get it!

I have a level 100 empolen arceus suicune riaku entei ho-oh and lugia. A level 88 multres a level 85 articuno level 92 zapdos and level 88 shaymin garitina level 85 level 77 raquayza and 65 grodon. You can't win..

Dudes... I put you all to shame. YOu say you are so great as trainers... I have a shiny spiritomb that is level 100 and its ability is wonder guard. Only super effective moves can harm a pokemon that has wonder guard. Nothing is super effective against spiritomb. Losers. I am the best trainer ever. My spiritomb CAN'T DIE!!!!! Belive me, I have tried to get it to faint. It doesn't work.
There is a video where a guy filmed while playing pkmn platinum and he actually caught a red gyarados... The guy killed almost 55 regular magikarp and then a shiny magikarp appeared. The only thing he had to do is to envolve it one level only and PRONTO! A red gyarados in his party.

Oh, by the way, I have infanint red gyrodos Lv 100, thanks to action replay with the pokemon modifier code, and the shiny encounter code. I'M NOT KIDDING!!!! In my platinum I have lvl 100 Arceus,Drarkrai,Moltres,Arcticuno,Zapdos,Ho-ho,Lugia and lvl 50 Entei,Suicune,Raikou and also I have Manaphy, Azelf ,Uxie (no mesprit)Giratina,Dialga,Palkia,Celebi,Manaphy and last of all Shaymin and these are different lvls
You look in the stinky pond. And fish like a old man. With the super rod..or you can use a stick and a peice of string. Just like I did.and I found my red gyarados. Lvl.100 after you get the level 100 magicarp(et) then you get berries and feed him and take him for a walk. So he can listen to you. If he escapes while trying to capture him..then you shouldn't try again because then everything WILL ERASE!
