As someone who considers themselves a pro at the diamond and pearl duplication glitch I have been unable to repeat it in platinum. When the game is shut off at the correct time and your pokemon exist both on the server and in your game you get an message saying "an error has occurred" when you attempt to retrieve the duplicated pokemon and the duplicated pokemon is then erased.
