Any who as long as you have wireless internet access you can get on it. Wi-fi is ALWAYS there.
If you want mystery gift go to the jubilife city tv station.
On the 3rd floor there will be a tv producer guy. He will ask you something.
For the first part say EVERYONE HAPPY
then the second time say Wi-Fi CONNECTION
save your game and the next time you turn it on at the menu screen it will say Mystery Gift.
If you want to trade the go to the building down and left from the tv station and you can look for pokemon you want or put a pokemon up for trade and specify what pokemon you want in return :3

Get a wireless internet, (via router) or the nintendo usb wifi connector, then when you start Pokemon Platinum before you hit continue, go to the wifi settings (Forgot what its called)
Then set it up by entering details in, also you need a WEP configuration
