A method is to contact Microsoft. Of course, they'll want to sell you a new disk. You can see if your computer has a "D:" or recovery drive that may still have application software on it that you can burn to CD. The other method is to ask a neighbor if anybody is running Vista Premium. The third method, my favorite, is to run an earlier o.s like Windows XP. Despite the hype, I and a lot of others out there, prefer XP because of software incompatibility issues with Vista, Vista is a resource hog galore and Vista is slower to react when playing games.

Before going to extremes, you might want to try System Restore. You can type in Sys in the Start Search box above the Start button. Click on System Restore in the box above it. When you get to the System Restore box, it will want to restore in the most recent point. Click on Choose a different restore point and then click on NEXT. In the next box check the Show restore points older than 5 days. (And you wonder why I don't like Vista) Pick a date older than your problem or pick the oldest date. Follow the prompts and see if that fixes your problem. You will have to restart your computer for the restore to take effect, but this does repair about 90% of the problems that occur. GOOD LUCK.
