If you can find a ASUS unit for that price? That's the best there is ! More features, reliability, and very long lasting ! Much more bang for your buck !

Stay away from the Chromebooks, they have VERY limited use. They're basically just used to get on the internet. Like Rooster said, Asus is a great brand.

chromebooks are good if you spend most of your time online but it does have some offline use for documents, spread sheets, notes etc.. and there are other offline apps in the chrome web store. there is now even a web version of skype which is nice.

get what you like is what i say.

i have a toshiba chromebook and i love it, the keyboard, speakers, and screen display are very good!! (the keyboard is comparable to a mac and the speakers are amazing)

the newer generation models have a backlit keyboard and a faster processor so i  will probably upgrade in a year or so (my current chromebook is a year in a half old already)

im not use to using Windows  anymore. (i tried my housemate's a couple times over the past few weeks and it just seems to bizarre to me)
