Facebook shared photo albums is a new Facebook feature that allows up to 50 users to upload images to the same Facebook album.

It does what it says on the tin: Allows various users (as Kelly mentioned, I believe the number is 50) to collaborate on shared photo albums.

So, rather than having an album where only one user can upload and share pictures, people can collaborate in uploading photos to a group album.

Compared to the recent release of graph search, it may not seem like such a big feature - but I think it's actually pretty revolutionary.

I think it will be great for group gatherings like events, festivals, weddings, birthday parties... The only downside I can see is if people start spamming others in the group, or trolling people they know by posting offensive or abusive images. I'm sure Facebook will manage that very well though.

This is an awesome update because it solves more than few user problems. Before photo sharing you had to make a secret group after each event (house party , wedding , vacation etc.) and ask everyone to share their photos and than add them to your profile manually. Now that is all behind us and sharing photos just become easier than ever.
On the downside someone can start posting all the bad photos from the same party (the ones that you weren't planing on putting online) and you can do nothing about it (because you asked for the pictures). Trolls however would be almost impossible to handle if someone adds one to the group and seriously doubt that Facebook will have any abjection if they add photos that make you angry like a bird as long as the photos don't violate terms of use (nude , explicit etc.).
