Well I had 4 level 100 pokemon *feraligator *noctowl/really nice to have if its high level * mewtwo and ho-oh.. You really don't need them at a level 100 but at least at level 80 or higher READ!!
You can train your pokemon fast at the elite four..if this helps just send me a messege on youtube my username is canscramthesuper game
I beat him with my: Lvl 100 Charizard Lvl 85 Typholsion Lvl 65 Dragonite Lvl 70 Ho-oh Lvl 76 Venasaur and Lvl 10 Abra (I just used it as an extra to revive others.)
My point is, TRAIN! Or if you have a nice friend, borrow their Pokemon. Or if you are lazy, Day care. Putting a Pokemon in day care allows you to run around getting your Pokedex filled up and then you can go back and get it. It should be pretty high level.
Easy leveling up put the pokemon you want to beat red with in the day care place on route 34 then go to viridian city to the gym and make a loop where you never stop moving (get something to hold down on the d-pad ) and your pokemon level up.
I have tried beating him, but my team is: Lvl 65 typhlosion, lvl 62 dragonite, lvl 17 geodude, lvl 53 slowbro, lvl 54 lugia, and lvl 45 quagsire. However, I've only beaten 3 of his 6, so try these and train them, it will work, oh and by the way, beware for blizzard, his snorlax, lapras, and blastoise know it.
Well, if you asked me, I would suggest that you should get some GOOD pokemon, and not something like Pidgey, maybe the Legends, their strong, and their level are already high when you catch them, I used 2 Snorlaxes (Borrowed one from my friend), a Lugia, and a motrex, and my dragonite. (Hope this helped!)
Well you could use a pokemon like typholison on pikachu cause its defenses are very low (you can beat him with flamethrower) as for lapras and blastois you should use a grass type or a elecktrick type but I really don't know the other pokemon caus I never beated lapras XD!
76 leveled & EV-trained (with average IV's) Ninetales took care single-handedly Red's Team. Speed and Special Attack maxed so it always hits first and hard. Moves: - Hypnosis - Dream Eater - Nasty Plot - Fire Blast
Tactics: Use hypnosis and while foe is sleeping spam Nasty Plot. Then fireblast them all into the oblivion ;) VS Snorlax keep using hypnosis and Dream Eater. Nasty Plot'd Dream Eater will take it out in about 2 hits though while others usually die in one hit.
Its easy, I done it first time with a lvl 78 Ho-oh, 75 Typhlosion, lvl 59 lugia, lvl 67 zapdos, lvl 72 mewtwo and lvl 51 suicune. Only used typh, ho-oh, mewtwo and baited suicune to revive my ho-oh to kill venasaur as I got 1 hit by the pikachu :P. Hope this helps ohh and teach thunder to mewtwo as it 1hits everything.
Train a dophan to a high level teach it earthquake thatyll take care of pikachu and maybe charizard catch a steelix teach it strong steel moves like flash cannon and gyro ball also pursuit if you can if red widthdraws his lapras as for blastoise use a strong grass type pokemon like leafeon or meganium if you can but beware of his ice type move blizzard and for snoarlax use a rock type like rhyperior for venusaur use a physchich or a fire type like espion or typhlosion
I beat him with lvl 70 Ho-oh, lvl 70 Mewtwo, lvl 71 Lugia, lvl 65 Typhlosion, lvl 50 Snorlax, lvl 50 Suicune. He is easy if you know how to fight. Like with Lance ;p
I'm seeing that you seem to reccommend starter and legendary. Global Trade System got me all three starters (I got a totodile for an oddish!) and I have mewtwo, ho-oh , and lugia! I think that from what I'm seeing, you should just level up starters and legendarys and SAVE before battling red (ash?)
Well I have a level 60 team and it is possible to defeAt red or if that does not work train a lot on mount silver level 45 and up pokemon or train at the elite four they give a lot of experience which makes it easier to train hope this helps! :D
I beat Red's Pickachu with my level 50 Nidoking. I beat his Blastois with my level 57 Tyranitar, and Lapras with a combonation of those two and a level 57 Amphrasos. Venusaur is incredibly tough because it knows Giga Drain, so you definatly need a good fire type that is faster. Tyranitar Knows Snadstorm, which helps whittle down HP, and also stops psychic moves.
You could just find good matches with his pokemon for example, w/ his pikachu, choose a ground pokemon like dugtrio that is >lv. 80 or you could just ask for lv. 100s at the GTS
I have tried but red keeps on beating me I got down to his last pokemon lapras I used my lv 71 mew two and used thunderbolt 2 times I stunned him lapras was on red. Trainer red sucks
I beat him with my lv 81 heracross, lv 81 electivire, lv 81 magmortar, lv 78 lugia, lv 89 feraligatr and my lv 85 mamoswine, although I really only used heracross electivire and magmortar
I need help ive tried 2 beat him a hundred times I hav latios lv 63 mewtwo lv 73 swampert lv 58 ho oh lv 70 dragonite lv 70 and arcanine lv 44 I hope sum1 can help :D
All you need is your starter level 70 and the legends you get. Like Mewtwo, Ho-oh and lugia I done it with Feraligatr level 72, Mewtwo level 76, lugia level 56, ho-oh level 71 and two that done nothing onix level 51 and pidgeot level 49.
Train train train red is the most advance pokemon trainer you will battle ...you will only defeat RED with your strongest pokemon (duh) your pokemon have to be over level 80 at least. They need to know great moves and you need a lot of full restores also. ( do not worry if you lose a lot it will be worth the victory....and you will receive something really rare.....it took me 8 times ) $$$$!!!! And I'm a kid.
This is not an answer but please keep reading this a lot of you people who have finished this game is good I admit your better than a lot of us but! All of you people/ haters sending messages not related to this subject are noobs I tell you why? 1. Probably cause your sending a message when your not up to this part 2. Bullies shall be defeated and be teased at at the future 3. ...( nothing for 3)... 4.to all those people who seek answers go to a website that DOESNT have haters
I have a lvl 83 Feraligatr and Ash's pikachu(lvl 88) killed me with thunderbolt in one hit. Worst part is, thats the only pokemon I trained... All my others are 50 and below.. So train all your pokemon evenly!! Lol. I'd suggest getting a really powerful Snorlax, because snorlax has a LOT of HP and high in defense. Make sure snorlax has giga impact, its a rlly powerful move. Also train your starter pokemon to a really high lvl and choose the rest from a wide variety of types of pokemon(id suggest main types like fire, water, electric, grass, etc. NO bug pokemon, they are too weak). Having the same type of pokemon isn't good. Train on mt. Silver, cause it has high lvl pokemon.
Your main goal is to switch your Pokemon to target his (Which will be exactly what he's doing). Heal as much as you need to, and buy a lot of Full heals and Max potions. Also, Beware if any of your pokemon are weak to ice, because hail makes Blizzard have perfect accuracy, and three of his Pokemon know it. (Change the weather, duh. :P)
Pikachu, Although strongest, was the easiest for me, I just had to use flamethrower with my level 84 Typhlosion, then with Blastoise, I used lvl 70 Mewtwo (From Cerulean Cave) to change the weather to sandstorm, used Drain Punch, then he used Blizzard, then Psycho Cut, then switched out after his blizzard missed,(I sound like a nerd teehee) then he was at red, and I brought out out my lvl 59 Torterra from Pearl, and used earthquake which killed him, then I switched to Typhlosion again and he sent out Lapras, which was actually really easy. All I had to do was send out Zapdos and use charge, then Discharge, then he went bye-bye (I had to do this sequence twice because Red used a Full Heal) , Then his last three Pokemon I killed with lvl 71 Ho-Oh. So overall..
You will need Atleast some lvl 55 Pokemon, High level Electric (Preferably Zapdos or Jolteon) *Striker*
A High speed Water (Lugia Works, but preferably Kingdra or Feraligatr)*Supporter*
High Spc. Attack Fire (Typhlosion, Ninetales, Camerupt, etc) *Striker*
Lvl 40+ Pokemon that knows any fighting move to tackle snorlax. *Defender*
A psychic Pokemon (Preferably Mewtwo or Alakazam) Supporter*
A Rock type pokemon for defensive moves (Golem, etc) *Defender*
Oh my god just train at the pokemon league. Lance's pokemon give away 3000 - 4000XP so it should be no problem, it just takes time. If you can't be bothered to rain then don't play the game. Training is what this game is about, to get through the main story. Oh my god.
I swear that I didn't cheat and I'm not lying, I beat red with a lvl 63 lugia, 62 feraligatr, 48 raikou, 70 mewtwo, 50 zapdos and a lvl 39 gyrados and I will not tell you how I did it. It was quite easy and it took me 2 turns
I came to his charizard and I 4got a had a sacred ash dang iv had a big improvement since my 1st try oh and I was wondering around and I found moltres you need rock climb surf and waterfall when you enter the mountain go to the water and up the waterfall and youl find it soon I havnt fought it cause I'm a noob at gettin legends all my legends from my platinum tho my entei I caught oh and use mystery gift for a must have named jirachi I can't get my wi fi to work so I got mine from gamestop event and it knows DRACO METEOR also use the powerful dragonnite and a tiranatar well also try to get 2 sacred ashes 1 from ho oh one from the man I 4got were
Get a male and female rattata make sure they know endeavor and quick attack and breed them in the day care centre and vs any strong opponent such as lv 100 arceus first use endeavor then quick attack hope it helped
I would say train hard I havet beat him two with my 60typloshen,74mewtwo,72ho-oh,59lugia,53golduck,and 51snorlax.still like I said train hard if you do I will to.

You could use 6 level 1 rattatas each with endevor quick attack and focus sashes use endevor as your first attack ( he'll hit you first (leaving you with 1 thanks to the focus sash) use quick attack switch to a different ratatatatatatatata
Have at least Level 80 pokemon. Red's Pikachu is level 88, his highest. He also has all three starter pokemon from first generation at level 80 something. He also has a lapras and an espeon. For Pikachu, use a Ground type or a pokemon that can use a ground type move. For Venusaur, use either fire or psychic. For Blastoise, use either electric(advisable) or grassFor Lapras, use either electric, fighting, rock, ground or grass(normal effectiveness)For espeon, use either a dark type or ghost type.
Well his laprass totally killed me, but I defeated his pikachu with one blow using my golem (lv 48) holding soft sand :) the rest of my pokemon crew got blown away with laprass (they are all weak agasint ice xD)
