TracFones are not easy to unlock in general, they have been programmed not to work on other networks, so often it is something that can't be done.
However, the following is worth a try:
- Write down the serial number of your sim card (found on the back of the sim card)
- Go to tools and scroll to the bottom to 'sim app' (ignore the pop ups)
- Enter the last 8 digits of your sim serial number
Hopefully that will work, otherwise, it is definitely worth going through TracFone directly as they will tell you whether the phone will work on another network.
You could go to another website to get an unlock code, but I have heard of cases where someone has successfully unlocked the phone but after a certain amount of time, it stops working due to TracFone's programming.
SO, overall, it's best to play things by the book, or you could risk losing use of your TracFone!
