If it is RF (Radio Frequency) then the signal is susceptible to interference from other RF devices in the area.  (Cordless phones, wireless networks, wireless video transmitters, etc.) Especially if those devices are on a similar frequency. Some devices have a range of up to 300 feet and will penetrate walls, doors and furniture.

8.5pt COLOR: Black; : 'Verdana','sans-serif'">A much better technology is IR (Infrared). With IR the signal travels on a beam of light from the transmitter to the receiver. The transmitter and receiver must be in the line of sight and usually no more than 30 feet apart. IR devices are pretty much not susceptible to interference. To eliminate the interference purchase an IR wireless headset.

Well if that happens it basically means that your headphone cable is improperly shielded or the laser mouse is electrically noisy.
