The role of technology Technology plays an integral part in our everyday lives and without it many of the conveniences we take for granted, such as electricity, transport and communication would not be possible.
From the the discovery of electricity, technology has played a functional part in bringing power to nearly every corner of the globe. Similarly it has allowed us to harness natures elements, creating power from the sun, wind and water.
The society we live in is reliant on technology, from the very practical element of engineering and architecture, through to the banking and transport systems we use on a daily basis.
Communication systems have developed from carrier pigeons to emails and instant text messages. While shops allow us to pay with credit cards, making carrying cash around almost redundant.
How technology changed the world.
On a larger scale, technology has made the world accessible. Through high speed trains, to air travel, never before has the world seemed so connected.
Technological advancements have even allowed man to conquer space, and it is only a matter of time before we begin to push the boundaries of this final frontier. Technology never ceases and is continuing at an alarming rate. Once the stuff of science fiction, artificial intelligence, robotics and even nanotechnology are now in production.
Technology has shaped the world we live in for over 100 years, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
