Have you tried turning it off and leaving it off for 5 minutes then turning it on again? That is my only suggestion. I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to matters such as these, but I do know that has worked for me in the past. Hope it helps.

Throw it out and buy another brand. These are made in China or India. Designed to last about
two years or until HP have sold $ 500.00 with of ink cartridges and then they crap out. The little
micro switch that senses the paper surface is most always responsible for this error.
IF you get it to work it will only last for a day or two and then start again. Way too much trouble
to dismantle the product, fiddle with the sensor and then reassemble the unit.
Don't even think about getting a replacement part.
Also Check HP's website and they indicate the product is DISCONTINUED.
