Unfortunately you cannot catch a torchic on Pokemon Platinum, as torchic does not inhabit the islands on which platinum is set.

The only method of getting a torchid on platinum without using action replay codes is to migrate it from an older Gameboy Advance pokemon game such as Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald.

How to get Torchic in pokemon platinum?

Torchic (along with Mudkip and Treecko) is one of the three starter pokemon available to the player at the beginning of pokemon Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald.

  • Torchic is a fire type pokemon, which are strong against grass pokemon, but are vulnerable to attack from water type pokemon.
  • At level 16 torchic evolves into Combusken.
  • Combusken then evolves into Blaziken at level 36.
  • Blaziken is the final evolution of Torchic.
  • Torchic is one of the three pokemon available at the start of Ruby, Sapphite or Emerald. The other two pokemon available are Treecko and Mudkip.
  • In Torchic's final evolutionary stage as Blaziken it is a very strong pokemon.
Migrating pokemon from Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald into Pokemon Platinum. To migrate pokemon into a newer game you have to take the following steps:

  • Beat the elite four in the game.
  • Obtain the national pokedex.
  • Put the Gameboy game in the slot.
  • Place the pokemon you want to migrate into one of the boxes.
  • When you load platinum it should say "migrate from", select this option.
  • You can migrate a total number of six pokemon per day.
  • To collect your migrated pokemon go to the pal park located south of sandgem town.
  • Then take part in the catching game at pal park and catch your migrated pokemon back!
