We all know that games such as Dead Space and Bioshock increase your heart rate, but what about nonviolent games such as Pokemon where there is no adreniline and no violence. The only games that scientists test that I have seen are the ones like GTA and other games that practically rig the results. (ie-Half Life, and Left 4 Dead.)

Yes, because your heart rate will increase when you win and it will also increase when you lose.

Video Games "trick" the brain, the same as movies and t.v. It is the reason we cry during sad movies. Sometimes the human body can't tell the difference between reality and t.v. So I conclude, yes. It can effect your heart rate. But, no more than any real life situation would.

No. What causes your heart rate to increase is adrenaline. Your adrenal glands pump certain hormones into your body to help you give a boost of power to overcome certain things.
