My first one I remember was a huge heavy tv "stand" looking thing. It almost looked like a long dresser with a tv built into it. Oh the Smurf's we use to watch! Lol!

Oh yes, I remember them. My parents had one when I was young. I remember watching The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show in black and white!

Television and I arrived on the scene at about the same time.Β  Our set had a 10-inch screen and channel buttons on the side (only 3 or 4 of them actually worked).

Oh yeah I remember them.Β  Could only get three channels.Β  For you younger folks there was no remotes!! To change a channel you had to move.

Tin foil on rabbit ears Outside antenna sometimes you’d go out and turn it to try getting the picture clear.

Watched Gunsmoke and Bonanza on old black and white.

Thanks for the memory Darren.

Growing up if we had a black and white television I was too young to remember it, we always had color televisions, it was around 1965 the color television sets hit the market big time.

We had one growing up.Β  Bought a color TV around 1965.

Bought a portable single antenna B&W about 30 years ago for watching games when I was working in the garage.

Got rid of the B&W about 15 years ago when it died.
