I just discovered that if you are on wifi, at least on my phone, it gives you that error message. Switch off Wifi to record then get back on it to send. It has worked for me every time.

If you are having problems recording video on Snapchat, here are a couple of things that should fix the problem:

1. Instead of tapping the shutter button, make sure you're holding it down for a couple of seconds (videos last for 10 secs).

2. Did you know that if you are low on memory space,
you may not be able to record video at all. What is your image library on your phone looking like? Is it full of videos and pictures? That could be why... Check how much memory is on your phone

3. It could be a software issue. Try closing the app and restarting it. If that doesn't work, try deleting and reinstalling Snapchat.

Still not working? Report the bug to the Snapchat site. They have a special page for video bugs: https://support.snapchat.com/co/bug-record-videos

My Snapchat videos were saying "failed" before, then I realized it was a problem with the phone.

How do I know? Try it yourself:

- Test using video recording on Snapchat with the back camera. It will fail. Now try try recording a Snapchat video with the front camera. It will work (at least it did on mine).

Are you using Android? That's what I am on.

If you want to fix the problem like I did, you have to upgrade your OS on your phone and then delete and reinstall Snapchat. It takes a bit of time, but if you love using Snapchat then it's probably worth it...
