Ipad if you are going to be moving a lot and need something portable. Laptops are bulky. However, if you want to work its best to choose a Laptop since its more powerful. Pads are mostly for programs that do not need as much speed or computing power. If you select a laptop i would suggest go for the macbook pro since it has a longer battery life than the air. And if its the standard one that you are getting than it will save you quiet a bit of money.
