There are many websites offering cheap PC to phone calls to Pakistan, but I have not been able to find a totally free one yet. Websites like FreeCall which offer free PC to phone calls for many countries charge for calls to Pakistan, as do all the other ones that I have found.
Some of the cheapest ones I have found so far include VoipGain which costs €0.017 per minute or FreeCall which is €0.070, which is also the same charge as LowRateVoip. If you do a Google search for "free PC to phone calls to Pakistan” all these websites come up, with people claiming it is free to call Pakistan. However, you need to go onto each site and look at their rates, which show it is not free at all - although it is very cheap. For a list of different services - this is a good directory: www.netphonedirectory.com/directory.htm
The best and totally free option is Skype - but this is a PC to PC call so the person in Pakistan would need internet access and a handset. Even if they don’t have their own computer they could create an account for free and use it at an internet cafe if you both agreed a time to call. And headsets can come quite cheap, I bought one off eBay for next to nothing recently.
I think Pakistan must be one of the most popular countries to call, hence it is so hard to find a free service. These websites do seem to regularly change their prices so it is worth keeping an eye on them to see if the prices go down. Also, check out some of the forums online as that might be where you would first find out if a free service is made available. Try www.justlanded.com/english/UK/Forums/Telephone-Internet/FREE
