Hi, I just unlocked mine based upon info from another site. I didn't record exactly what I did, but I think it was this.
(1) Take out SIM card. Then power on. It says Insert SIM.
(2) Type *2767*3855# which performs a full reset. Wait for a minute. It will power off and power back on by itself. Wait one minute before proceeding to next step.
(3) Type *7465625*638*00000000*00000000# I think this resets the password or the IMEI number or something.
(4) Power off the phone. Then type #7465625*638*00000000#
This is the regular instructions T-Mobile gave me for unlocking the device (Enter: #7465625*638*Unlock Code# here 00000000 is the unlock code).
Then the phone will say "network lock deactivated".
(5) Power off the phone. Insert the new network's SIM card. Power it back on. I think it works right away from here. Maybe I typed in the #7465625*638*00000000# again here first, but I don't think so.
