Are you using the same CD reader on both? If not, try switching the readers and see if the problem moves. If it is an external drive and a usb device, make sure another device works in the port. A thumb drive is a good test since they do not normally need a driver. If it is an internal drive, make sure that the jumpers on both the hard drives and the cd reader are set the same. Also if internal get a replacement cable. I think that somewhere in this process you will be able to isolate the problem.

The CD readers are the same. I did take the one out (good computer) and try it in the other one9bad computer) but had the same error. The other CD (bad computer) worked fine in the good computer so I know the CD is good. I'll try the cables next.

If you are facing windows error code 41 in your system then follow the given steps to fix this windows error:-
• This problem occurs if you install for a non plug and play device but windows can’t find the device. And to solve this do one of the following tasks:-
• If the device was removed, uninstall the driver, connect the device, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall the driver.
• And if the device is not removed then in this case update the driver from the Device manager. From the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard.
You can also use third party repair tool to fix this error. I have fix my PC problem and remove this windows error code by using this third party repair tool.
