The best thing to remove ballpoint pen from an LCD screen is rubbing alcohol. You can buy Isopropyl Alcohol wipes, but it is usually cheaper to buy a large bottle of rubbing alcohol as it has many uses.
Just to be safe, I would recommend testing a small patch first, but I know of many people who have used this method, and it has worked fine without doing any damage.
So what do you do with it once your pen marks have vanished like magic from your TV screen? Well, here are some other uses you might not have thought of:
- Use it as a De-Greaser - This is a cheap and effective alternative to 'specialist' products, yet it does the job really well. It can be used to polish the chrome on your kettle, etc. Too and unlike other products, there is no need to wash it off as it dries almost right away!
- Beauty Uses - Use rubbing alcohol as an alternative to nail varnish remover, it's certainly cheaper! It will also clean and sanitize the backs of your earrings. Another use is to fill a small fine mist spray bottle with rubbing alcohol and add about 15 drops of essential oil. It can then be used as an emergency deodorant, although it will sting like crazy if you use it after shaving!
- Medicinal purposes - I have personally used this one many times and strangely, it was recommended to me by my doctor! If you suffer with cold sores, use cotton wool to apply a little rubbing alcohol and it will not only relieve the itching, it will dry out the skin (in a good way!) and reduce the cold sore. It also works well on insect bites.
- Clean Candles - If you are like me, and only tend to light candles during the winter months, they may have gathered a little (a lot) of dust during the past year. In which case, take a soft cloth with a small amount of alcohol and wipe them clean - this works wonders!
- Lose the sticky - For those labels, that when removed, leave a sticky residue, just wipe a little alcohol over the area, and it will be as good as new! Also works for sticking plaster marks.
